Kampong Ayer
Kampong Ayer or the Water Village is one of Brunei famous landmark and one of the most valuable heritage, that has existed for hundreds of years. It is known as the 'Venice of the East' by the Europeans traveler named Antonio Pigafetta who has sail and visit Brunei back in 15th centuries. Today, Kampong Ayer are enjoying all the modern facilites such as electricities, wireless connection, school, polis station, fire station, surau and much more. The transportation for villagers in Kampong Ayer are the water taxis that only cost $0.50 for child and $1.00 for adult.
The boats with roof top is especially for the tourists who wish to visit and see all of Kampong Ayer. At the same time they got to see other attractions such as 'Jong Batu' and 'Proboscis Monkey' that is situated along Brunei River. Fares are negotiable.

SOAS Mosque
SOAS Mosque is one of the most outstanding mosques of South Ear Asia and one of the earliest mosque in Brunei. It is named after Brunei 28th sultan namely Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. The mosque is a symbol of a Islamic faith in Brunei Darusalam and was completed in 1958. This mosque has a very elegant design with its elegant materials.
The exterior of this mosque is:
- it has a lush of beautiful garden and fountains that symbolize heaven in Islamic view.
- A replica of Sultan Bolkiah Royal Barch. This Royal Barch was used as a stage for quran reading competition during the 1960s-1970s.
- has 28 golden dome all together. The main dome is a 24 karat of gold plated.
- The size of the mosque is 225ft by 86ft.
The interior of this mosque is:
- Designed with 99 colorful stained glasses.
- The carpets are handmade from Saudi Arabia.
- Crystal chandeliers are imported from England.
- Marble from Italy.
- Granite from Shanghai.
Before you when inside the mosque, you have to take of your shoes and dress appropriately. For un-muslim, there is a robe available for cover ups. This mosque is an impressive example of modern Islamic architecture that symbolizes the strong Islamic faith of the people and became the major landmark and a tourist attraction of Brunei.
